About Brazil

Brazil is a country that is uniquely capable of stirring the senses and which has an artful knack for raising a smile and alleviating the stress of all who set foot on its soil.

The Brazilian lifestyle is addictive and the National Tourist Authorities make no hesitation in telling the world that 96% of tourists who visit the country plan to return for a second helping in the future.  Whether captivated by the aroma of the menu staples of tropical fruit and freshly cooked seafood, or mesmerised by the stirring beat of the Samba and the hedonism of Carnival or enamoured with the endless white sands – it makes no difference, Brazil just simply gets you hooked.

BrazilThe magnitude of Brazil is hard to grasp, occupying 47.3% of the continent of South America and swallowing up the mighty Amazon, the awe-inspiring rainforest and kilometre upon kilometre of unblemished beaches; only the United States, Canada, China and the Russian Federation have a greater surface area.  Brazil has a vast 182 million-strong population to match and although it has just one official language, Portuguese, its natives are as diverse and fascinating as the landscape they populate.

Already boasting the 10th largest GDP in the world and ranked as one of the four largest developing economies in the world to form part of the BRICs, (namely Brazil, Russia, India and China), Brazil will, according to Goldman Sachs, have the world’s fifth largest economy by the year 2050.  Foreign investment into Brazilian equity funds and furthermore Brazilian property is strong and steady, inflation is under strict control, external debt has been greatly reduced and the economic outlook is bright.  The country is more stable than ever, both politically (Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, known as ‘Lula’, secured a second term in a landslide election victory in October 2006 due to popular policies) and economically, the country has vast natural resources and expects to be self-sufficient in oil within one or two years.

Brazil propertyBrazil’s property market is in its relative infancy and with an almost development-free coastline, supply lags way behind demand.  Prices are currently artificially low, but not for long, and there are no restrictions on foreign ownership, which is 100% freehold.  Year round rental potential is a certain for property in Fortaleza, largely thanks to the weather and a domestic population of 182 million who do not need to look outside of their own borders for a relaxing break.

Landcorp International is confident that Brazil is a holiday home hotspot of the future and getting in at entry level, with land, will deliver the greatest rewards.
