Current Planning Permission

Approval of Conceptual Master Plan

On January 25, 2008, the Conceptual or General Master Plan for Ecocity Brasil was officially approved, effectively giving the green light for the whole project to be constructed according to the blueprint laid out by the developers.

This Master Plan is for an 80 million square metre development, of which 63.5% of the land is environmentally protected and just 10% of the surface area will be constructed upon. It follows principles of the ecological and sustainable bio-climatic urban planning, as well as conforming fully to international standards ISO 14001. The plan stipulates that Ecocity Brasil will reduce the negative impacts and the depletion of resources, in addition to seeking the integration of living processes, respecting local biodiversity and preserving the natural ecosystem.

Once private investment for each separate resort and phase within Ecocity Brasil is secured, planning permission for these - always within the guidelines stipulated in the Master Plan - will be sought and granted on an individual basis.
